Pittsburgh Water Referendum:
vote yes to keep our water public!

I will vote YES on the referendum to Keep Pittsburgh’s Water Public!

No matter where in Pittsburgh we call home, we all deserve the same thing– safe, clean, affordable water service.

Currently, the city’s Capital Lease Agreement (CLA) would allow for the sale of our water services for $1 on September 1, 2025 and under the Municipal Authority Act, there is no law that would require our water services to remain public. When Pittsburgh’s water was previously privatized, lead levels doubled beyond safe limits, endangering our health and forcing the city to reclaim public control.

We are deeply committed to preventing privatization of our water. The referendum to keep Pittsburgh’s water public will be on the ballot of the May 20 primary election– where voters can ensure our right to the safe, affordable, publicly controlled water service our communities deserve.

Join us by committing to vote YES to keep control of Pittsburgh’s water where it rightfully belongs– in the hands of customers and community members.

Together, community advocates and residents are united for:

  • Better, more reliable service
  • Cleaner water
  • Lower costs
