Pittsburgh Chapter of PA United
Our Pittsburgh chapter is fighting for our homes, our jobs, and our environment. We’re fighting for a liveable Pittsburgh for all.
We are a coalition of community, labor, faith, and environmental organizations committed to advancing the vision of a community and economy that work for all people.
In the past, we have:
- In Allegheny County, our endorsed candidates have secured two pivotal positions, significantly advancing Southwestern Pennsylvania.
- Sara Innamorato was elected as County Executive in 2023, and our dedicated team knocked on nearly 45,000 doors and made over 8,000 calls, playing a crucial role in her victory.
- On her first day in office, Sara Innamorato raised pay, increased vacation time, and removed waiting periods for parental leave and sick time for county employees.
- Summer Lee was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2022 and re-elected in 2024. For Summer Lee’s campaigns, we knocked on 27,505 doors and made 55,825 calls, ensuring her success in both elections.
- Summer Lee’s victory is improving the lives of everyday Pittsburghers. Rep. Lee secured a $52.4 million EPA clean water/lead removal grant to replace lead service lines and over $40 million for electric school buses.
What we are currently working on:
- We are currently at the forefront of the fight to ensure UPMC pays its fair share. For years, UPMC has gamed the system – claiming to be a “non-profit” while bringing in billions and not paying what they should in taxes.
